Benefits of Buying a Used Nike Driver

Replace a Nike driver you already trust

If a particular Nike head has worked well for you, buying used gives you a route to finding another. Match the full model name, loft, shaft and playing length. A familiar head with a different shaft may feel different from the club you remember.

Explore distinctive head designs

Nike’s range includes rounded and square heads, cavity-back designs and adjustable models. Buying second hand lets you explore those choices at different price points, whether you prefer the appearance of an SQ or the adjustment options of a Vapor.

Find a playable driver within a smaller budget

Earlier Nike models can offer an affordable way to replace an unsuitable starter-set driver or add a spare club. Prioritise useful launch and manageable shaft weight, then compare condition and price.

Buy with clear grading and time to test

Our photographs and condition grades help you assess the actual club before ordering. The 30 day return period then gives you time to find out whether its flight, feel and control suit your game.

How It Works

Every used Nike driver listed on Nearly New Golf Clubs is inspected before it goes live on the website. That means you can compare condition and specification more clearly when choosing a driver.

Checked before listing

Each Nike driver is reviewed before being uploaded to the website. The head, face, shaft and grip are checked, along with adjustable components where fitted, so the listing reflects the club’s condition as clearly as possible.

Clear condition grading

We grade every used Nike driver so you know what to expect before you buy. Whether a club is mint, very good or good, the aim is to make condition easy to understand before it reaches your bag.

Compare the right options

Compare Nike model, generation, loft, shaft model, flex, condition and price. Check the actual listing, because the same head can play differently with another shaft or setting.

Fast UK delivery

Order by 12pm and we will aim to dispatch your Nike driver quickly, so you can get it into play as soon as possible.

30 day returns

You need to feel comfortable with the club off the tee. That is why we offer 30 day returns, giving you time to make sure your Nike driver suits your game.

What Used Nike Driver Can You Get for Your Budget?

With Nike, spending more can buy a different head design, a preferred shaft or better condition. It does not necessarily buy a driver that is easier to use. Compare the complete club and include any changes you expect to make.

Used Nike Drivers Under £100

Earlier Ignite, SQ and selected VR models can fall within this bracket. Available examples have included a 13° SQ with a ladies-flex shaft and a 9.5° VR Tour with a stiff shaft. Those are different fitting choices despite sharing a similar budget.

If you struggle to get the ball airborne, start with suitable loft and a shaft you can swing comfortably. A low-loft Tour model may be inexpensive but still address the wrong problem.

Check grip size, playing length and included accessories before comparing prices. If you already know a club will need a replacement shaft, compare the total cost with a better-matched listing.

This bracket can work well for replacing a familiar model. Use the specification of your existing driver as the reference, including any previous shortening or shaft changes.

Used Nike Drivers £100 to £200

Vapor Pro and Vapor Flex examples can appear in this range. Listings have included a Vapor Pro with a Diamana S+60 stiff shaft and a Vapor Flex with a Tour AD MJ-6S shaft. The price difference therefore involves both the head and the fitted shaft.

Decide what you want the extra spend to achieve. A preferred shaft, cleaner crown or useful adjustment feature may justify it. A shaft’s original price or reputation is less helpful if its weight and feel do not suit you.

On a Vapor Flex, check the adjustable weight assembly as well as the hosel. Its additional tuning options are part of the buying decision, so establish the current configuration and any included tools.

“Flex” in Vapor Flex is the model name. Read the shaft specification separately to establish whether the club has regular, stiff or another shaft flex.

Used Nike Drivers Over £200

If a Nike driver is priced above £200, identify what supports the asking price. It might be a particular version, a shaft you want, cleaner condition or an example valued for its original components.

For a playing club, compare it with other Nike listings and newer used drivers at the same budget. Ask whether the extra spend gives you a specification you could not otherwise find.

For a collection, originality and presentation may carry more weight. Confirm the exact head, shaft, headcover and any claimed special-edition details. A higher asking price alone does not establish rarity or future value.

Check our delivery information and any changes you plan to make when calculating the total purchase cost.

Used Nike Driver Buying Guide

Nike SasQuatch and SQ Drivers: Check the Shape and Full Model Name

SQ stands for SasQuatch, but it does not identify one head design. The range includes both rounded and square models.

For example, Nike’s SQ SUMO 5000 has a rounded head, while the SQ SUMO² 5900 uses a square design. Nike developed the SUMO range around stability, using head geometry to position weight around the head.

If you are looking for the recognisable square Nike driver, check the photographs and full model name. Searching for “Nike SQ” alone can bring up a different shape from the one you have in mind.

Choose a head you can aim comfortably, then assess its flight. A shape that looks forgiving still needs the right loft and shaft to produce useful carry.

Nike Covert Drivers: Standard and Tour Are Different Choices

The red-crowned VR_S Covert introduced Nike’s cavity-back construction and FlexLoft adjustment. The original range included a 460cc standard head and a 430cc Tour head with a deeper face.

Those dimensions apply to the original Covert generation. Do not transfer them automatically to every later Covert model.

When comparing Covert and Covert 2.0 listings, identify both the generation and whether the club is a standard or Tour version. Then compare loft settings, shaft and condition.

The cavity in the sole is part of the design. Use the listing photographs to distinguish the intended construction from cosmetic wear.

Nike Vapor and Vapor Fly: Know Which Generation You Are Buying

Nike’s original Vapor family included Vapor Speed, Vapor Pro and Vapor Flex. The later 2016 range included Vapor Fly, Vapor Fly Pro and Vapor Flex 440. Similar names can disguise different heads.

Vapor Fly was designed around higher launch, while Vapor Fly Pro combined a pear-shaped 460cc head with a lower-spin performance aim. Compare the exact version rather than treating every blue-crowned Nike as the same driver.

For used buyers, a well-matched original Vapor can still be the more useful purchase. Compare shaft, condition and the flight you produce before paying more for the later generation.

Vapor Flex and Vapor Flex 440 Are Not the Same Head

The original Vapor Flex has a 420cc head. Vapor Flex 440 is a later 440cc design with different construction. Both provide weight adjustment through Nike’s FlexFlight system, alongside hosel adjustment.

On the original Vapor Flex, reversing the weighted FlightPod changes the position of mass within the head. That gives you another variable to assess when testing launch and spin.

Record its position before making changes. A previous owner’s preferred setup may not suit your strike or trajectory.

VR, VRS and Earlier Nike Drivers

Read the complete name on an older listing. VR Tour, VR Pro, VRS and VRS Covert identify different models.

If you are replacing an existing club, compare the markings on both heads. Also match the shaft model and playing length, rather than relying on the same flex letter.

For a first Nike purchase, begin with a specification you can use comfortably. A familiar tour-player association does not establish that the retail club is suitable for your swing.

How Do You Adjust a Nike Driver?

Identify the adjustment system before using a guide. Covert uses FlexLoft, while the Vapor models discussed here use FlexLoft 2.0.

FlexLoft 2.0 provides five loft choices and three face-angle settings, giving 15 combinations. On the original Vapor Flex, the loft choices run from 8.5° to 12.5°.

Before adjusting:

• Confirm the exact model and handedness.
• Photograph the current hosel and weight settings.
• Follow the instructions for that model.
• Use a compatible adjustment tool.
• Change one variable before testing again.

A loft stated in a listing may describe the current setting on an adjustable head. Check the available range and starting configuration if either affects your decision.

Can You Reuse a Nike Driver Shaft?

Confirm the head and adapter combination before buying a replacement shaft. Nike used different systems across its equipment ranges, so “Nike compatible” is not a complete specification.

Also check the finished playing length. A shaft that has been shortened, extended or previously altered may produce a different build from the original factory specification.

If your purchase depends on reusing a particular shaft, resolve compatibility before ordering.

Is a Smaller Nike Driver a Mini Driver?

A smaller head does not automatically make a club a mini driver. Nike’s original Vapor Flex used a 420cc head in a conventional driver build, with Nike’s published specification listing a 45-inch playing length.

If you want a shorter club for selected tee shots, compare our used mini drivers. Establish whether it would replace your driver or provide a separate distance and flight from your existing fairway wood.

How Do Nike Drivers Compare With Other Brands?

Nike SQ SUMO vs Ping MAX Drivers

If the appeal of a Nike SUMO is its emphasis on stability, compare suitable models among our used Ping drivers.

A later design such as the G430 MAX 10K also prioritises stability on off-centre strikes, giving you an alternative to assess alongside Nike’s earlier approach.

Compare ordinary mishits, address comfort and price. Does the newer option preserve enough additional carry or keep enough shots out of trouble to justify the difference? If the Nike already produces the pattern you need, its lower purchase cost may be more useful.

Nike Vapor Flex vs Cobra’s Adjustable Drivers

If you are considering Vapor Flex for its tuning options, compare it with appropriate models among our used Cobra drivers.

For example, Cobra DS-ADAPT LS combines a lower-spin design with FutureFit33 loft and lie adjustment. Nike Vapor Flex offers a different approach through its hosel settings and reversible weight pod.

Choose according to the flight each complete club produces. More settings are useful when they help you achieve a repeatable result. Compare shaft fit and performance before giving adjustment range extra value.

How to Test Your Used Nike Driver

Use our 30 Day Try Before You Buy Guarantee to compare your used Nike on the range and course, subject to the guarantee terms. Start with a clear aim, such as replacing a familiar club or improving your typical carry and direction.

Record the Club You Are Testing

Note the model, shaft, playing length and current settings. For a Vapor Flex, include the weight-pod position.

This matters when replacing a favourite Nike driver. A difference in setup could explain a different flight even when the head name matches.

Compare It With Your Current Driver

Warm up, then alternate small groups of shots between the two clubs. Keep the ball type, target and tee height consistent where practical.

Record typical carry and the spread of shots. Keep ordinary heel and toe strikes in the comparison.

Test the Feature That Attracted You

• SasQuatch or SQ: Does the head shape help you aim, and do mishits remain playable?
• Covert: Does the chosen loft and face-angle setting produce a repeatable flight?
• Vapor Pro or Fly Pro: Do you retain enough height and carry when contact is imperfect?
• Vapor Flex: Does changing the pod position produce a useful difference?
• A replacement for a familiar Nike: Does the new club match the feel and flight you were trying to recover?

Separate Sound and Feel From Distance

Include impact sound and comfort at address in your assessment, but measure the result separately. A shot that sounds powerful may still finish short or offline.

If you notice movement, a new rattle or behaviour that concerns you, contact us before continuing to test.

Take It Onto Familiar Holes

Use tee shots where you know your normal landing area and common trouble. Assess how often the Nike leaves a manageable next shot.

Repeat promising results across more than one session. Choose from the pattern of drives, rather than the best strike of the day.

Condition Guide

Our condition guide explains the separate ratings for heads, shafts and grips. Read those grades alongside photographs of the individual club.

For a Nike driver, pay attention to crown marks visible at address, face and sole wear, shaft condition and grip size. On adjustable models, confirm the fitted components and any included tool or headcover.

A replacement grip or shaft can make a club more suitable for play. If originality matters to your purchase, establish those details before ordering.
