Taylormade added V Steelâ„¢ to their Sim Max hybrids for the first time in TaylorMade’s history, giving golfers improved turf interaction and better performance from difficult lies. The multi-material construction allows engineers to precisely position weight in the head for low CG. Prepare for launch and enhanced Speed Pocket technology increases sole flexibility to promote additional ball speed on low-face mis-hits.
Tech story
The TaylorMade SIM Max Rescue includes a plethora of technologies that combine to deliver high launch, playability, and forgiveness from any lie. The V Steel sole design, which was originally introduced in the mid-2000s in TaylorMade fairway woods, has been implemented into the SIM Max Rescue for exceptional turf interaction from any lie and reduced friction at impact, resulting in consistently cleaner contact. Also featured on the sole is the Speed Pocket, which allows for increased sole flexibility and improved performance on mis-hits, specifically those low on the face. The clubface is made of C300 ultra-strong steel, a thin material that produces explosive distance. Twist Face technology is also implemented into the SIM Max Rescue, which is a slight twisting of the clubface at the heel and toe to improve performance on contact made at those locations of the face.
